I am facing a major problem with my keyboards and PCs (i am using 2 PCs). To start with, there was very less space in my C drive in my PC no.1and I wanted to resize partition. One of my friend who has fare knowledge of computers advised me to use Norton Partition magic to resize the C drive. There were 3 partitions C,D,and E. I merged D and E with partition magic and tried to resize C. And here I started facing problem.... After resizing, the PC restarted and stuck on windows logo. Several attempts failed to boot. Then (as there was no importanat data on HDD) I tried to put windows XP bootable CD in CDROM and tried to boot from CD to delete partions and installing fresh windows.I have already chosen 1st boot device as CDROM in bios. After the post display, press any key to boot from CD appeared and tried to press enter key,but the keyboard was not responding and it was trying to boot from HDD as if there is no command to boot from cd is given.(my PS2 keyboard is working fine and there is no fault in my keyboard ).Then I though like the HDD's partition might be corrupted and I installed this HDD in my working PC no.2. Here in this PC also keyboard stopped responding while selecting boot from CD. Now If I connect my regular working HDD in PC no.2 and tried to boot from CD, keyboard does'nt work but after windows gets loaded, keyboard starts working nicely. Please advice me what is to be done to solve this problem Sorry for very very long question but nobody has given answer for my question from lot of computers experts. I am using PS2 keyboard. also I tried to update bios from motherboard mfg.site but no help. My system configuration is: PC no.1.....Intel Motherboard D945GCPE,2GB RAM,250GB Segate sata HDD, Windows XPsp2,No extra Video card or sound card installed. PC no.2....MSI motherboard PM8M-V,1GB RAM,160GB Samsung IDE HDD,Windows XPsp2.No extra Video card or sound card installed. The problem started only after I tried to resize C partition and after putting this HDD in PC no2,same symptom occured in this PC no.2. Now in both the PCs,If I install a freshn HDD,set up runs well and the keyboard also works in set up.If I put a HDD with OS loaded and if I want to Repair or Reinstall, the keyboard becomes nonresponcive.I am unable to boot from CD if a OS is already loaded on HDD. I tried different bootable discs to boot but keyboard does'nt work Thanks

Hi Subhash i hope you are fine. You should change the BIOS setup in the BOOT sequence . Put the CD DVD first, then the hdd and then enables the disquette drive and other devices. I hope you can resolve it. Best regards, Daniel

You had confirmed by yourself, that when you setted the hdd(with partitions merged, 250GB) you keyboard doesn't work, either in PC1 and PC2, also you had confirmed that if you remove that hdd, and set a new one you keyboard work well (PC1 AND PC2), as well the current operating system or new installation had worked fine...., anyway I just suggest you,to Put you HDD(250GB) in PC2 whose have it, a health operating system, then: 1-start your computer(Windows XP or W2K session) 2.clic on start button, the select run 3.then type "COMPMGMT.msc" then clic on the okay button 4.then chose the hdd of 250gb then delete any partition. 5.or also you can use the partition manager from symantec to make it. 6.Remove the HDD(250gb) 7.Then try to set that disk(250gb) to any PC to install your operating system.
* If you are using a KVM switch with both computer, try to reset that one, or connect direct those things on you PC.
Hope this work for you.

Thanks dear genaro , it worked for me.One more thing I found is if I connect a USB keyboard and if I keep PS2 keyboard, while booting with both the ketboards, both the keyboards are functioning well . Again if I remove USB keyboard and try to boot with PS2 keyboard ,the PS2 keyboard is non operative for few seconds. Thanks again Regards
