in HCD SB100 the laser pickup unit is PVR502.When we replaced it it dont support MP3 VCD disks.This is a common problem when it is replaced.Not in this set, but in other models also.Any suggestion to maket it take mp3 & other Cds.The DVDs are ok.

This lense is used by LG also in their several models, The lense which we get in local market are recycled (as ststed by few LG friends). If you get it from any LG service centre ,it works very well without any adjustment but if it is from market, you need to adjust RF level for CD to 1.3v PP on test disc instead of 1v PP (original adj). If you measure RF level in those lense it is always less than 1v pp which makes its strange behaviour.

Recently I had same experience with new lens PVR502.It is used in Philips DVD. When you hold upside down the lens, with sliding holes to top, adjust left side preset & VCD,MP3 lens starts working!
